Android: Change or disable data warning - how to do it

In newer versions, Android alerts you about your data usage by itself. If this exceeds a certain value, you will receive a data warning. We show how you can deal with it.

Surfing with full control: Android warns you when you reach a certain limit.

Mobile data consumption is no longer quite so critical, as large volumes have long been standard, even with cheap contracts. Nevertheless, the data warning can be quite useful.

Android: Simply set data warning manually

On Android 9, proceed as follows:
  1. Open the "Settings".
  2. Select "Connections".
  3. Open "Data Usage", there you will see the data warning at the top.
  4. Tap further down on "Mobile Data Usage" and then top right on the gear wheel.
Now you see all the options for data warning. So you can set whether this should be displayed at all. If yes, you can set the value manually. In addition, you can use "Set data limit" to automatically turn off the mobile data as soon as the data warning value is reached.Especially for users with relatively small mobile volume, these features are quite handy. On the other hand, those who have a generous contract and use it moderately will rarely run into trouble anyway.
