Connecting VLC player with Chromecast - is it possible?

With Chromecast, you have the ability to stream content from your mobile devices to your TV. When paired with Google Home, you can also stream compatible apps by voice command, turn off the sound, and rewind. So far, however, it's not possible to connect Chromecast to the VLC player.

Is it possible to connect VLC player with Chromecast?

With Chromecast, you can quickly stream content from your smartphone to your TV. However, until now, there is no way to connect it with VLC player. So if you want to watch your videos via Chromecast, the only way to do so is via the free Google Cast app. This is available for your browser, which allows you to stream videos.
  1. Download the Google Cast app for your Chrome browser and install it on your PC.
  2. Then connect the Chromecast to your computer.
  3. Once you drag a video into your browser, it will be streamed to your TV.
Alternatively, you can test a beta version of Chromecast. Meanwhile, the Chromecast beta allows you to connect to the VLC player. However, this is a beta version, with which errors can still arise. Under "Tools" and "Renderer Output", select "Chromecast" in the VLC player. However, you should only select this option if you are aware that the software can abort at any time.
