Dropbox: View Used Storage

With Dropbox's service, you can easily store files in a cloud system and synchronize different devices with it. If you use the service for free, you have up to 2 GB of storage volume at your disposal. If you want to know how much of this is used, you can do so via your profile.

How to find out how much space is used

You can view the used space on all devices. However, it is usually in different places.
  1. In Broser, after logging in, go to "Settings" by clicking on your profile picture and then "Settings". Here you can see the used memory under "Account".
  2. In the desktop app, you can calculate the used memory by pressing the small gear at the top. Here you can see the used storage space in percent. You can now calculate how much storage space is used and how much is still free. If you have a free account with a maximum of 2 GB of storage space, the occupied storage space is calculated with "Percent / 100 * 2".
  3. If you use a smartphone and want to know how much storage space is occupied, tap on the three horizontal lines at the top. Now you can again see on the left side the used memory in percent.
If you are short of storage space, you can consider switching to Dropbox Plus.
