MacBook Internet Recovery - how to restore the system

Normally, Apple's MacBook is one of the rather reliable devices. Nevertheless, there may be a fault in the system, whereby, for example, the internal data carrier no longer works. If this is the case with you, then the Internet Recovery function can help to repair the device again.

How your MacBook's Internet Recovery feature works

If your MacBook's hard drive is damaged, it may be difficult to start Recovery mode. If you have an active Internet connection, you can also start the recovery mode via the Internet.
  1. Start your MacBook while holding down the "Command" key, "ALT" and "R".
  2. Hold down these keys until the Apple logo appears on the screen.
  3. Now enter the WLAN data of your network and confirm it with the password.
  4. Followed by downloading files from the Apple server. Wait until this process has been completed. Do not turn off the device.
  5. In the next step, you will see a window called "Mac OS X Utilities". Here you will see several options. Select the menu item "Reinstall Mac OS X". After that, the recovery of your system will start.
  6. This process can also take some time. Do not turn off the device here either.
  7. About the Internet recovery, the original version of your operating system is restored. However, it must not necessarily be the latest version.
