Using Zoom in the browser - how it works

The "Zoom" platform is used especially in the home office for meetings and conferences, but can also be used in everyday life with friends and family for communication via video call. All you need is an Internet-enabled device, a microphone and a webcam.

How to use Zoom in your browser

You can use the Zoom application on your smartphone, tablet, laptop and desktop PC. There are various features available for you to use during a meeting. In addition to screen sharing, you also have access to various layouts as well as scheduling options. If you only use the app in the browser, you do not need an app or an extension.

1. First open the link you received in your invitation to the video conference.
2. Now you will receive a prompt to install Zoom or open the application in the app.
3. Now reject the pop-ups for both alternatives.
4. If you have selected "Click here", then you will be asked one more time whether you want to open the app. Auch jetzt lehnen Sie dies wieder ab.
5. Anschließend öffnet sich Ihnen eine Zeile, in der „Treten Sie über Ihren Browser bei“ steht.
6. Dort klicken Sie nun auf den Link.
7. Jetzt geben Sie Ihren Namen ein und treten dem Meeting im Anschluss bei.
8. Nach der Bestätigung der Nutzungsbedingungen werden Sie direkt zum Meeting weitergeleitet.
9. Dort beginnt automatisch die Videokonferenz und Sie können weiterhin individuelle Einstellungen vornehmen.
