Planting chives on the balcony - how it works
Chives can be planted on the balcony without any problems, even without a garden. However, in order for this to work out and for you to have a bountiful harvest, there are a few things to keep in mind when it comes to plant care. In this article, you'll get tips on growing chives and an overview of which apps will help you take care of them.
What to consider when planting chives on the balcony
Even if you don't have your own garden, you can plant fresh herbs like chives yourself. All you need is a pot, which you place in a semi-shaded area of your balcony.- To start growing chives, buy either already pre-pulled chives or seeds.
- If you use pre-pulled chives, please repot them into a larger pot. If, on the other hand, you want to sow the chives yourself, place the seeds at a depth of about 2 cm and cover them with soil.
- Even if the herbs do not require fertilizer, it is important that you keep the chives moist and cut them regularly to prevent them from flowering.
