YouTube app: block ads

YouTube offers many videos, but not without ads. In this case, the interruption is especially annoying when you want to watch a short video. You will also find advertisements in the YouTube app. However, you have the option to block them.

How to block ads in the YouTube app

Blocking ads within the YouTube app is only possible in a roundabout way.

1. If you want to block ads directly in the app, however, this is not possible without changing anything in the software.
2. This is usually not legal, which is why you should refrain from doing so - especially if you need a proxy or need to download alternative firmware.
3. You can find corresponding apps, however, if you search for a "YouTube AdBlocker" in the App Store. Here you can find apps that can block the ads or even apps that automatically skip the ad clip.

Using the AdBlock browser

If you want to see your videos on your smartphone without ads, you should use the AdBlock browser.

1. To block YouTube ads on your smartphone, you need an alternative Internet browser from Adblock.
2. First, delete the settings of your YouTube app.
3. Gehen Sie hierfür in die „Einstellungen“ und klicken Sie auf „Apps“.
4. Wählen Sie anschließend die installierte YouTube-App an.
5. Hier gibt es die Schaltfläche „Standardeinstellung löschen“, klicken Sie auf diese.
6. Sie können nun, je nach Betriebssystem, über den Google Play Store oder den iOS App Store den AdBlock-Browser herunterladen und installieren.
7. Nun können Sie sich im Browser die Videos ohne Werbung anschauen.
