1. Open Office is fully compatible with Microsoft Office. This is mainly due to the file format support of the software. You can therefore open and edit any Microsoft document in Open Office as well.
2. Word uses the file type "docx", you can also save and use files in this format in Open Office. Ansonsten werden diese im „ODF“-Format gesichert.
3. Um Open Office Dokumente im Word-Dateiformat automatisch abzuspeichern, müssen Sie zuvor einige Einstellungen treffen.
4. Gehen Sie hierfür auf das Menü „Extras“. Hier klicken Sie anschließend auf den Menüpunkt „Optionen“.
5. Wechseln Sie im nächsten Schritt auf „Laden/Speichern“ und gehen Sie auf „Allgemein“.
6. Hier sehen Sie unter „Einstellungen für Standard-Dateiformat und ODF“ den Punkt „Immer speichern als“.
7. Wählen Sie nun „Microsoft Word 2007/2010/2013 XML“ aus und bestätigen Sie mit „Ok“.
