Microsoft Teams: Open multiple windows

With Microsoft Teams, organizations and businesses can effectively communicate with each other via video meetings. If you want to open calls and meetings on Teams through a separate window, you'll need the desktop version to do so, and you'll need to enable the new meeting experience in advance.

How to open a separate window on Microsoft Teams

Opening meetings and calls in a separate window only works with the updated desktop version of Teams so far. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Open the desktop version of Teams and click on your profile picture.
  2. In the "Settings" now click on the "General" item.
  3. There you activate the "New Experience" by clicking on "Activate New Meeting Experience".
  4. To use the new feature, you must then exit and restart Teams.
When you now join a meeting or start a call, it opens in a separate window. You can move the window freely on the screen and make further settings via the control bar at the top of the window. If you want to use other applications on your PC during a meeting, simply shrink the open Teams window. This allows you to open as many application windows on the PC as you like and participate in the Teams meeting at the same time.
