Archive Telegram Chat: How it works - all info

Not every chat should be visible in the overview. For this purpose, the option to simply archive a chat exists. Our guide explains how to use the function and what options are available.

Archiving has only been possible on Telegram since 2019. Since then, it has become an integral part of the messenger's functionality.

Telegram: How to archive chats

You can archive a Telegram chat in the following way:

1. Swipe the chat you want to archive to the left.
2. The chat is then archived and "Archived chats" appears at the very top of the chat overview. You can also make this entry disappear by swiping your finger to the left.

If you want to see the archived chats again, simply drag the chat window down. The "Archived Chats" entry will then reappear at the top and you will have access to all the chats contained there.
