How to insert a backslash on a Windows PC

A backslash is an upside-down slash. If you are using a Windows PC with a German keyboard, you can easily insert it into a document or application using a key combination. To do this, please hold down the keys "Alt Gr" and "ß" at the same time.

1. Another way to insert the backslash character under Windows is the way via the character table.
2. To open this, please navigate on your computer to "Start" > "All Programs" > "Accessories" > "System Tools" and select the entry "Character Table".
3. In the table, then search for the backslash symbol, select it and tap first "Select" and then "Copy" to copy the backslash to the clipboard.
