iPhone 6: NFC - this is what you need it for

NFC stands for "Near Field Communication" and is a standardized method for contactless payment on smartphones. It allows devices to read data over short distances. You can also use the NFC standard on the iPhone 6 - for example, to pay at the supermarket.

How to use NFC on iPhone 6

In German, NFC it means something like "near-field communication" and is to be taken literally, as the transmitter and receiver must be no more than 4 cm apart. For this reason, NFC is also considered secure. You can use NFC to make cashless payments, exchange information via NFC tags and exchange data between smartphones. To use NFC on your iPhone 6, you need to do the following:
  1. First, open the "Wallet" app on your iPhone.
  2. After the menu opens, click the "+ button" at the top right of the window.
  3. Confirm the new window by clicking "Continue".
  4. In this step, you will be prompted to manually insert or scan your bank details. Your entry should be verified by your bank and you will receive an information as soon as contactless payment with Apple Pay is activated. This requires that you have a checking account or credit card with a bank that supports Apple Pay.
If you cannot offer a payment method that is supported by Apple Pay, then it is not possible to use NFC yet.
