How to change your Instagram name

Instagram is all about your own appearance. This includes your name as well as your photos. You can change both of your Instagram names in the profile section of the app. We'll show you how.

Change Instagram name in a few steps

In Instagram, you can change your profile information at any time. The most common is the desire to change your name. You can do this both in the browser and via the app.

1. Open Instagram app and tap on the profile icon.
2. Tap on "Edit profile" there.
3. In the respective fields you can change both your Instagram name and your username. Your Instagram name is the name of your account, while under the username you will be seen by other Instagram users.
4. Save the change and exit the profile.
5. Alternatively, you can change the name via the browser. To do this, go to the website and log in with your login details. Then proceed in the same way as described in the previous steps. In the browser and in the app, the procedure is the same.

Numerous other setting options in your Instagram profile

In your profile, you can change more information if necessary, such as your biography or your website. You can alternatively make all these changes in your browser: Log in to Instagram with your account and go to the profile, which you can also find directly in the web login. The changes you make and save there will be applied to all devices on which you are logged in with your account.
