Star Citizen: Cruise Control - the handy feature explained

In Star Citizen you spend a lot of time in the cockpit of your spaceship. After all, the distances between planets are long; so it's all the better that a convenient helper now exists in the form of Cruise Control.

AI control in the cockpit: Cruise Control is your cruise control at the starship helm.

On long journeys, you don't have to permanently control the speed yourself, because Cruise Control takes care of that.

Star Citizen: Pleasant travel thanks to Cruise Control

Cruise Control is basically a kind of cruise control:
  • You activate the function by default with the "C" key.
  • Thereupon a small arrow appears at the speed display.
  • Cruise Control will always try to reach or maintain the targeted speed.
  • This is convenient in many situations, such as a long climb through the atmosphere.
Thanks to Cruise Control, you thus no longer have to hold the forward thrust yourself. You should only keep in mind that the function remains active even when accelerating and braking, which means that the AI helper always wants to return to the set speed. To prevent this, press "C" again to turn Cruise Control off.
