These 2 ways to delete your Apple ID

Your Apple ID is your identity in the Apple ecosystem. There is no function to delete your Apple ID on iOS. We show you the two ways you can still delete the ID.

If you no longer need your Apple ID, you can delete it in two ways.

Just delete your Apple ID online

You should only delete Apple ID in urgent cases. If you have decided to do so, proceed as follows:

1. Go to Apple's data and privacy website and log in with your Apple ID.
2. In the menu, then go to "Manage your data" > "Delete account" and click "Begin".
3. You will now be asked for a reason for the deletion and must confirm the displayed instructions with "Next".
4. After providing an email address or phone number, you will receive a code that you must enter to confirm the deletion of your account.

Alternative way: delete Apple ID via contact form

The way via the website is the fastest way to delete the Apple ID - but not the only one. You can also request the deletion via form:

1. Select the option "Privacy issues" as the subject of your question.
2. Fill out the other fields with your personal information.
3. Formulate the desire to have your Apple ID deleted in the comment field. Important: Also specify the Apple ID in this field directly.
4. After your Apple ID has been deleted, you will receive a confirmation email from Apple.

To do this, you need the Apple ID

Before you delete your Apple ID, you should consider the following points:

• All your purchases from the iTunes Store are linked to the Apple ID and partly work only with this. Copy-protected media such as MP3s and movies, you can no longer play without your Apple ID.
• If you use the iCloud, this is also linked to your Apple ID. You consequently lose access to all data in the iCloud.
• If there is still credit on your account, you should spend it or give it away, because the money will not be refunded after deletion.
