Safari: Show source code - how to do it
Every website you visit with Safari consists of a source code in HTML format. If you are interested in the structure of your visited web pages, Safari offers you the possibility to display the source code. How this works and which requirements have to be met, you can read here.
Show source code: How to enable the developer mode in Safari
If you are interested in the HTML source code of a website, you have the possibility to show it in Safari. For this to work, however, you must first enable developer mode in the Apple browser, otherwise the source code display will not be available. To turn on developer mode in Safari, please open the browser's menu and navigate to "Properties" > "Advanced" in it. In the window that opens, then look for the option "Show menu developer in the menu bar" and activate it.Safari: Show the source code directly in the browser
If you have activated the developer mode as described above, it will be displayed as a menu item in the menu bar of the browser and you can show the source code of a web page there.- To display the source code, please click on the "Developer" menu item and select the "Show page source code" option.
- As an alternative to the way via the menu, you can also show the HTML source code by pressing the keys "Command" + "cmd" + "U".
- The source code then appears in the lower third of the browser window.
- If you want to display the source code larger, please click on the icon with the two rectangles in the upper left corner to open the source code in a separate window.
