Excel: Compare two columns - here's how
If you often work with spreadsheets, you usually can't get around Excel. The program from Microsoft has been one of the most widely used programs for spreadsheets for years. Even comparing two columns is usually not a problem.
This is how you compare two columns in Excel
If you want to compare two columns in Excel, it depends on which method you want to use to compare the two columns. For example, if you only want to find out the differences between two columns, this is quite easy.- Open the Excel sheet that contains the two columns you want to compare.
- Mark the first column by clicking on the column label (usually a letter) at the top with the mouse. Now hold down the Ctrl key and click on the second column label.
- Both columns should now be highlighted. Tap the F5 key on the keyboard and click on "Content..."
- A window called "Select content" opens again in the bottom left of the window that now opens. Mark here in the right column the second item "Column differences" and click "OK".
- In the Excel spreadsheet are now all the differences between the first and second column displayed by in the second column all deviating values are marked.
