Connecting Laptop to Chromecast - How to proceed

Google Chromecast allows you to stream content from other devices to your TV over your home network. If you want to connect your laptop or computer to the Google Chromecast, you don't need anything more than the latest Google Chrome browser.

How to connect your laptop to Google Chromecast

In addition to iOS and Android devices, you can also pair your laptop or computer with Google Chromecast. For this, you need the latest version of the Google Chrome browser. It is also necessary that Google Chromecast and the computer or laptop you want to pair are on the same Wi-Fi network.

How to proceed with the connection

If you want to pair your laptop with your Chromecast, just follow these steps:
  1. Open your Google Chrome browser.
  2. Open the URL "chromecast.com/setup" and click "Start" there.
  3. Google Chrome will now search for Chromecast devices that are on the network. Select the device that corresponds to the device name displayed on the TV and click "Setup".
  4. The setup wizard will now automatically connect you to the Wi-Fi hotspot of your Chromecast device. If the connection is successful, click "Next".
  5. You will now be shown a code on the computer and the TV. If they match, confirm with "Yes".
  6. Now you can set the name of your Chromecast and select your country. Then click "Next".
  7. Finally, you need to connect to your home Wi-Fi network. If a connection can be successfully established, click "Next" to complete the setup.
You can now stream content from your computer to your TV using Chromecast.
