Can Alexa make multiple Bluetooth connections?
If you want to control your smartphone's music via Alexa, you can connect the smart speaker to your phone via Bluetooth. If you want to connect other devices, such as speakers, to Alexa as well, then the voice assistant must accept multiple Bluetooth connections.
How many Bluetooth connections can Alexa make
Each Bluetooth transmitter can only connect to one receiver. This is also true for Amazon's Alexa. If you want to pair another speaker with Alexa, you need a second Echo Dot, because each Echo Dot can only connect to one other Bluetooth speaker at a time.- You can also use a splitter. This splits the signal, allowing you to control two devices at once. Connect Amazon Echo with the splitter and then two Bluetooth speakers.
- If you want to control certain devices via Bluetooth, this is best done via an app. This connects to the device you want to control, and then executes the commands you enter.
- It is different with the in-house Echo speakers from Amazon. The function is called multi-room playback and allows you to play music on all Echo speakers at the same time.
