Excel: Sort - this function is available to you

In Excel you can easily create data sets and then analyze them. To simplify data analysis, it may be useful to sort the data appropriately beforehand. However, you do not have to do this manually in Excel. The appropriate function is also available for this.

How to sort your data in Excel

In Excel, you have the option to sort different types of data. It depends on whether it is text, numbers or a date, for example.
  1. If you want to sort cells with text, select them and go to the "Data" tab at the top. Now, in the "Sort and Filter" section, select whether you want to sort them from "A to Z" or "Z to A". The buttons are thereby marked with an arrow in the corresponding direction.
  2. You can also use the buttons mentioned in point 1 when sorting numbers. Here you select the button with A and Z and the arrow pointing from A to Z to sort the numbers in ascending order. The other button is for sorting them in descending order. In the same way, you also sort date and time information.
  3. You can specify all other information exactly using the "Sort" button and set the criteria by which you want to sort the information. Hier können Sie zudem nach einem bestimmten Format der Zelle wie Farbe, Symbole oder ähnliches sortieren.
