"Ok Google": disable the feature on Android 8

How to deactivate "Ok Google"

The voice assistant from Google offers you numerous options. If you still do not want to use it anymore, you can deactivate the assistant at any time. For this, it is necessary to turn off several options on your smartphone, so as not to be surprised by the assistant by chance.

1. The first thing you need to do is to deactivate the "Voice Match" option. To do this, go to the Google app on your smartphone and click on the icon with the three dashes.
2. Here you select the "Settings" entry. Now follow "Voice input" > "Voice Match".
3. Disable the option "Access with Voice Match" via the button.
4. Next, the voice recognition of the assistant is disabled. To do this, open the settings of the Android device.
5. Further down you will find the entry "Google". Tap on this.
6. Now select "Google Search, Google Assistant & Google".
7. Click on "Google Assistant" > "Assistant". Hier tippen Sie auf „Smartphone“.
8. Deaktivieren Sie die Option „Google Assistant“ über den Regler.
9. Auch die App-Berechtigung für das Mikrofon sollten Sie deaktivieren. Klicken Sie hierfür in den Einstellungen des Geräts auf „Apps“.
