Deutsche Bahn: How the comfort check-in works

It's not just air travel that offers the option of online check-in. With Deutsche Bahn, it is the so-called comfort check-in and our guide explains how it works.

Without further checks: comfort check-in is convenient for several reasons.

Thanks to comfort check-in, you will not be checked in the train as soon as the staff sees that you are at the specified seat. This is convenient for yourself and saves the staff time.

Deutsche Bahn: Perform Comfort Check-In quickly in the app

You perform Comfort Check-In as follows:

1. Open your ticket in the DB Navigator app.
2. Select the "Comfort Check-In" button. If you have reserved a seat, the app will prompt you to check if you are in the right seat.
3. Otherwise, you must now enter the seat you have taken.
4. If you booked the ticket with BahnCard, you must now enter the number.

After that, the comfort check-in is finished and you can concentrate on work, entertainment or sleep without disturbance, as no more checks will be made.If you have a laptop with you on board, you can also perform the check-in via browser, at bahn.de/jetzt-einchecken.
