Two SIM cards with one number - all info on multi-SIMs

Actually, each SIM card has its own number. Since many devices such as smartwatches, tablets and surf sticks now require a SIM card, having multiple SIM cards is useful. Different network operators offer different contract models here.

Why is it useful to have multiple SIM cards with one number?

If you own several devices that need one SIM card, it is inconvenient to have only one SIM card. Of course, you can always change it, depending on which device you are using, or you can sign several contracts. However, this is usually not economical. Network operators such as Telekom, Vodafone and o2 therefore offer so-called "twin SIMs". You receive one or more additional SIM cards that are completely identical to your existing SIM card, i.e., you can reach them via the same number. If you already have a mobile communications contract, you request the desired number of additional SIM cards. There is usually a monthly fee for this.

With which providers can you get two SIM cards?

The option to own and use multiple SIM cards with the same number is named differently by mobile operators, but is offered by many. The following are the largest providers of multi-SIMs:
  1. Telekom: For € 4.95 per SIM card, you can use up to three SIM cards in parallel with Telekom.
  2. o2: Even with o2, you can use a maximum of three SIM cards as a private person. The option costs a one-time fee of € 29.99 and € 4.99 for each card.
  3. Vodafone: The provider has various options ready, whereby you can use up to three SIM cards: With the "RED DataSIM" you pay € 10 per card, but also get additional high-speed data volume, with the "UltraCard" you pay a one-time fee of € 30 and no monthly fee for the additional SIM cards.
