Savings Bank: Instant Payment - what is it? We explain it

With Instant Payments, Sparkasse enables its customers to speed up what is probably the most important transaction. Our guide gives the details and conditions that can be found there.

Paid directly: Instant Payments enjoy great popularity.

An instant payment is a real-time bank transfer. This is still quite young in banking, as the classic model specifies a waiting time of hours or even a working day.

Savings Bank: How Instant Payments Work

With Instant Payments, however, the money arrives immediately at the recipient.
  • According to the Savings Bank's own statement, this happens in a maximum of 20 seconds.
  • In addition, Instant Payments are possible around the clock. The business hours of the savings bank consequently no longer play a role.
  • In return, there is a maximum amount: This is 100,000 euros per transfer.
  • Real-time transfers are currently possible in 15 of the 34 SEPA countries, including nations such as Spain, France and Italy.
Instant Payments are very convenient for various purposes, such as a mobile online payment directly on site. For this reason, the offer, which has existed since 2018, is gladly taken up. It should be noted that additional costs are usually incurred. Diese variieren je nach Sparkasse und sind dort zu erfragen.
