VLC Player: Rotate Video - How to do it

6. Select in the drop-down menu whether you want to mirror the video by 90° or by 180°. Flip it 180°, turn it upside down.
7. Close the menu, you can watch the rotated video.

Rotate and save video

1. Go to "Tools" à "Settings" and check "All" under "Show Settings".
2. Click the arrow next to "Filter" on the left under "Video". Select "Transform" and set the "Rotate Angle of Your Video" under "Transcode Type".
3. Return to the menu and click "Stream Output" and select "Sout Stream".
4. Enable the "Video Transform Filter" option under "Transcode" and click "Save".
5. In the main player window, click "Media" at the top. Finally, select "Convert/Save" from the drop-down menu.
6. Follow the instructions to save the video rotated.
