If you have a device that uses Amazon's voice assistant Alexa, you have the possibility to control different functions by voice. For example, Alexa not only helps you create to-do lists and shopping lists, but also allows you to access and control your music playback. In order to use all of Alexa's functions, the voice assistant needs an existing connection to the Internet. If you get the message "Alexa app is offline" when you open the Alexa app on your smartphone, this can have several causes.

1. First, please check whether the WLAN function on your smartphone is turned on and test whether you have access to the Internet.
2. Often it also helps to close the Alexa app and restart it by moving the preview image of the app to the side and then tap on the app icon again.
3. If the problem persists, turn off your smartphone once as usual and then perform a restart.
4. If none of the previously described steps helped, uninstall the Alexa app from your device and download it again from the Play or App Store.
