iPhone: recover deleted contacts

If you made a typo while editing a contact or your address book was deleted due to a system error, you are at a loss at first. But in most cases, you can easily recover the contacts you thought were lost.

Run automatic backups, deleted contacts on iPhone are quickly recovered.

1. Open "iTunes" on your computer.
2. Connect your iPhone to the computer.
3. Click "Restore Backup".
4. Now choose the most recent backup and wait until the process is complete.

Another option is an iCloud backup. You will need to reset your device to do this. This will delete all data from your iPhone - so make sure you have an iCloud backup beforehand.

1. Open the settings of your iPhone.
2. Navigate to "General > Reset > Reset all content & Settings".
3. Confirm the prompt again and then set up your device again.
4. Select "Load backup from iCloud" during setup.

This alternative will save your contacts

If you have a message history with the deleted contact in the Messages app, you may be able to restore the contact in another way.
