TomTom: Installing maps - a guide

For navigation with the TomTom to work without problems, you always need up-to-date maps on the device. To get them, however, an update on the PC is necessary. How to do this on your TomTom, we show you in our instructions.

With this guide you install maps on the TomTom

Even on vacation or when you are traveling in a foreign city, you need a good navigation system. So that there are no unwanted surprises during navigation, it is therefore important to regularly install the latest maps on your device. Do you have a newer Navi of the brand TomTom, the map installation is possible with the help of My Drive Connect.

1. Start the My Drive Connect for this first and connect your TomTom device with the PC.
2. The navigation device should then be automatically detected and the application page to login open.
3. There you will see an overview with the available updates, which you can perform by first highlighting them and then clicking "Start".
4. If the download of the updates has been successfully performed, you will then have the option to select specific maps or map sections and install them on the device by clicking "Update".

Install maps: These instructions apply to older TomTom devices

If you are still using an older TomTom device that uses the "TomTom Home" tool, please connect the navigation device to the PC and start the program. Then switch to the "Maps" section in the program to view your purchased maps and transfer them to the navigation device by clicking "Install". Once the installation is complete, click on the "Eject" icon in the main window of the program before disconnecting the device from the PC.
