How to change text to numbers in Excel

In addition to numerous functions that allow you to create tables and charts, you also have the option to define numbers as text and vice versa. Thus, you can prevent numbers from being entered in some cells. You can change these text cells in a few steps back to a cell in which numbers are also allowed.

1. First you have to enter a number in a cell that is defined as text.
2. Now this cell will be marked as incorrect, because usually only texts are allowed to be entered in the cell.
3. To fix the error, left-click the cell to highlight it.
4. Then click on the exclamation mark located to the right of the cell.
