How to fix WLAN problems on the Fritzbox 7490

If you have problems with the WLAN connection on the Fritzbox 7490, this can have various reasons. To fix them, it is often already sufficient to perform a reboot. To do this, disconnect the router from the power supply for a short time and wait a few minutes before reconnecting the device. If the WLAN problems still occur afterwards, the following steps can help:

1. Check whether you have installed the latest firmware on your Fritzbox 7490 by calling up the user interface and reading the information in the upper area.
2. If the firmware is outdated, go to "System" > "Update" in the menu, select "New Fritz!OS" and click on the button "Start Update Now".
3. A change of the WLAN standard or the used WLAN channel from 2.4 GHz to 5 GHz can also help with WLAN problems.

WLAN problems: How to reset the Fritzbox 7490

If the occurrence of WLAN problems can not be fixed otherwise, reset the Fritzbox 7490 to factory settings. To perform the reset, please navigate to "System" > "Backup" > "Factory Settings" in the user interface menu and select the "Load Factory Settings" option. Then confirm your selection with "OK" and briefly press any button on the Fritzbox. If all LEDs of the Fritzbox light up, click finally on "OK" to start the reset.
