The Burning Crusade Classic: An overview of the phases

Along with the announcement of TBC Classic, the plan for the different phases of content was also presented. Our guide shows what the breakdown looks like and gives an overview.

One of the highlights of The Burning Crusade, namely the introduction of Draenei and Blood Elves as playable races, will be introduced in the Classic variant via pre-patch. Only then will the actual expansion begin.

The Burning Crusade Classic: These are the phases

TBC Classic will unlock its content in five phases. These are broken down as follows:

• Phase 1: Karazhan, Gruul, Magtheridon
• Phase 2: Serpent Shrine, Fortress of Storms
• Phase 3: Hyjal Peak, Black Temple, Arena Season 2
• Phase 4: Zul'Aman, Arena Season 3
• Phase 5: Sunwell Plateau, Quel'Danas, Terrace of Magisters, Arena Season 4

Those familiar with the original game will notice that the Classic edition takes a more staggered approach than the original, as the content up to (and including) Hyjal Peak was available at the time of The Burning Crusade's release. After all, this kind of timegating means that even fast-paced players will be able to have fun with TBC Classic for longer.
