Word: Show grid lines - how to do it

Microsoft Word is probably the most popular writing program among all Office programs, because it comes with a wealth of features. However, it may happen that gridlines are not displayed. If you want to insert gridlines in Word, you can do so via the view.

How to display grid lines in Word?

Sometimes in Word you need to insert an image very accurately or place a text exactly at a certain place on the sheet. For this to succeed, the gridlines are the best choice, because you can see exactly where you are positioning something. This is how you display the gridlines:
  1. Click on the "View" menu bar at the top.
  2. Here you will now find an activation box for the gridlines under the "Show" section.
  3. Click on the checkbox to activate it. You should now see the grid lines appear on the sheet. You can use the indents, the little lines at the top and left of the sheet, to move the grid lines. You can set it up so that the entire sheet is covered with grid lines.
Printing the grid lines is not possible, as they are only for orientation. However, you can create a table that has 40 columns and 48 rows and has a column width of 0.4. If you have created the table and want to touch up the row and column size, it is best to use the layout tab.
