Android 11: Transfer apps - these options are available

With the new operating system version of Android, the ability to transfer your data from an old smartphone to a new one has also been made easier. However, there is no transfer function, as is the case with an iPhone. However, Android is planning to make things easier for backup app developers.

How to transfer your apps to a new device on Android 11

If you want to move from one iPhone to another, Apple offers a matching backup feature that lets you transfer all your data, including apps. This function does not exist for Android at the moment. Android 11 will not add a comparable option either. Nevertheless, Google is making efforts to improve it.

1. With Android 11, options will be released to make it easier for developers to create apps that allow you to backup app data. This also made it possible to store app data in the cloud.
2. An example of such an application is "Smart Switch" from Samsung. With this, you can easily exchange your data between two devices. But other manufacturers also already offer a corresponding solution, such as HTC Sync Manager, Xyperia Transfer or Companion, respectively, or even the app Phone Clone.
3. For you as a user, it is still necessary at the moment to resort to the above-mentioned applications, since there is still no software with which you can perform the transfer independently of the manufacturer.
