Destroying hard drive with water - is it possible?

If you want to destroy your hard drive thoroughly, then you can find many effective ways so that your data cannot be recovered. Moreover, several methods are not recommended in this regard.

Can you destroy the hard drive by water?

Reliably destroying a hard drive with the help of water is not recommended. On the one hand, this still allows data to be recovered later and on the other hand, this method can also be very dangerous. Better use various programs or a hard drive shredder, so you can be sure that your data will not fall into the wrong hands later.

1. A hard drive is, as far as recovery is concerned, as good as unbreakable. Even fire damage makes little difference to it in part, since only certain parts must function to access your data.

4. You can also use strong heat. However, your data is recoverable until your hard drive is not exposed to a temperature of at least 700 degrees. However, this creates only a melting furnace or even a welding torch.
5. Also a magnet can work wonders in the destruction of your hard drive. However, you should use a particularly strong magnet, because only so the entire hard drive can be destroyed in one go. Here you should definitely be careful, because they have an enormous tractive force and can be dangerous to you.
6. Will you use a hammer, it is advisable to disassemble the hard drive into individual parts beforehand. Only in this way can you also get to all the parts that need to be damaged, so that data recovery becomes impossible.
