These are the requirements to save the recordings of an IP camera to NAS

If you have installed an IP camera for video surveillance at your home, you can use it not only to view live images, but also to record the camera's display. To save the recordings of your IP camera, you again have several options to choose from. Besides using the PC, an SD card or an external hard drive, you can also store the recordings in the cloud or on a NAS. If you want to use a NAS storage for recording, you need a NAS-enabled IP camera for this and must add it to the NAS storage.

How to add the IP camera to the NAS

Using a NAS to store the recordings of a video camera has some advantages. For example, a NAS not only has enough memory for several hundred hours of recording, but also operates around the clock.

1. If you are already using a NAS storage and have downloaded its app, you can add the IP camera directly in the app.
2. First open the app for this, tap "Add" and enter the required information.
3. Now still create a schedule when the camera should record and select when you want to receive notifications.
