How do I install a repeater? Here's how

Using a repeater is useful when your router's Wi-Fi signal is not strong enough to reach all areas of your home. Before you can use a repeater to boost your WLAN, you need to install the device properly.

How to install a repeater via LAN cable

If you want to install a repeater to strengthen your router's WLAN and increase its range, this is possible in several ways. For example, you can choose to connect the repeater to your router via cable or use a wireless connection. Regardless of which method you use to connect the repeater to the router, you must first connect the repeater to the power supply. To install the repeater wired, take a LAN cable, plug each end into a free LAN port on the router and repeater, and set up the repeater using the user interface.

Installing a repeater via WLAN

If a wired connection is not possible, you can also install your repeater via the WLAN network. The fastest way to do this is by using the WPS method.
  1. To connect the repeater and router via WPS, first please press the WPS button on the repeater and wait until its LED light starts flashing at "WLAN".
  2. Now also press the WLAN button on the router within two minutes so that the router can connect to the repeater.
  3. If your repeater does not have a WPS button, search for the WLAN of your repeater on a PC or laptop and connect the computer to it.
  4. Then open the user interface of the repeater and follow the instructions there to install the device.
