Jailbreak Apple TV 4: A simple guide
With the right software and under certain conditions, it is possible to jailbreak the Apple TV 4. The jailbreak is only feasible on a Mac and on no other operating system.
How to jailbreak Apple TV 4
If you want to have more options available on your Apple TV 4 with a jailbreak, you will need a Mac, a USB-C to USB-A cable, and some applications. The Apple TV 4 version must be 9.0 or 9.0.1.- On the Apple TV, go to "System > Software Updates" and disable automatic updates.
- Download the "Pangu Tool" and "iOS App Signer" and unzip the ZIP folders.
- Open the Apple Developer Center website and enter your Apple ID.
- Download Xcode, launch the program and log in with the Apple ID.
- Navigate to "File > New > Project > tvOS >Application > Single View Application".
- Enter a name and specify "Organization Identifier: com.jailbreak.appletv". Click "Create".
- Now connect the Apple TV to the Mac via cable.
- In Xcode, select the Apple TV as the Build Device in the top left corner.
- Finally, click "Fix issue" and follow the instructions.
- Open iOS App Signer and under "Browse", select the atvipa.app file in the "Payload" folder from the unzipped ZIP folder from the Pangu Tool.
- Select your Apple ID under "Signing Certificates" and click "Start > Save".
- In Xcode, under "Devices > Installed Apps", click the plus and navigate to the atvipa.ipa file that you just saved.
- Open the Pangu app that now appears on your Apple TV and follow the instructions to set up the jailbreak.
