Register your DSL connection - regulate your digital move
When moving house, you should not only change your address, but also make sure that you re-register your DSL connection in time. There are some aspects to take into account during this process, so that you don't have to face unpleasant problems or extra costs.
How to reregister your DSL connection correctly
Ahead of time, you should know that most providers estimate a lead time of four to six weeks so that the move of your DSL connection is possible without any problems.- As soon as you know the address of your new home, you should inform your provider. The easiest way to do this is to use the appropriate form. If your provider does not offer this option, send your documents by registered mail.
- With Telekom, you can fill out the form on the Internet and save yourself a trip to the post office. In doing so, Telekom requires a fee of 70 euros for the conversion of your DSL connection.
- If Vodafone is your provider, then you can make the change in your customer data. This may cost you 60 euros, which depends on whether you extend your contract period or not.
- If you use Kabel Deutschland, you must enter your data online. Subsequently, you will be informed by Kabel Deutschland about the further procedure.
