Doom Eternal: Release happens - also for the Switch

The name Doom still stands for the pioneering times of gaming in general and the shooter genre in particular. With Doom Eternal, a new part is on the way and this one thinks about all platforms. The game is now available on various platforms.

Doom Eternal: Release for all consoles simultaneously

Doom Eternal is supposed to be hell on earth according to the developer. With Doom, this is to be understood positively - the wild future war against alien creatures finally lives on this setting.An exact release date was not fixed for a long time. Was initially expected a release in2019, the release then took place on 20.3.2020.

• The game is available for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Google Stadia and Nintendo Switch.
• The Switch announcement is something special, because the Nintendo console is oriented differently than the competition. Typical shooters are actually not the metier of the Switch, which is due to both the technology and the target audience.
• It is all the more pleasing that Switch players can also go on a monster hunt. However, the release of the Switch version did not take place at the same time as the other platform versions, but only in December 2020.
• Users of the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, on the other hand, will have to wait until 2021 for the release of Doom Eternal.

The character of Doom Eternal will of course be no surprise. It goes fast to the point, explicit depictions of violence are the order of the day and reaction times are clearly more important than sophisticated strategies. With these ingredients Doom has become a legend and as the predecessor from 2016 showed, there is no reason at all to change that.
