The iPhone 8 is expected to be unveiled on September 12 in an ad hoc event, along with the iPhone 7S and iPhone 7s Plus. New RAM and memory rumors arrive
We've been talking for months about what the new iPhone 8 will look like, "the iPhone of the Decade" that will mark a definite change from the past. By now we know almost everything about how the iPhone 8 will be made: bezel-less design, dual rear camera placed vertically for augmented reality and many small innovations that will improve the functionality.
The only information that still did not leak was the possible date of presentation of the iPhone 8. Usually the Cupertino company manages to keep the secret until the last moment, but many feared that this strategy of Apple was just a way to postpone as much as possible the date for the presentation of the iPhone. Some expert always well-informed about the affairs of Apple had leaked that the production of the iPhone 8 was delayed. But this is not the case. From the latest rumors coming from the French Mac4Ever, the iPhone 8 will be presented on September 12. A date very similar to that of last year, when the iPhone 7 was shown to the world on September 6.
When will the iPhone 8, iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus be presented
At the probable event that Apple is organizing for September 12, the iPhone 8 will not be the only device presented. The Cupertino company, in fact, is ready to launch also two other new smartphones: the iPhone 7s and the iPhone 7s Plus. But surprises are not excluded. In recent days, rumors had circulated regarding the Apple Watch 3, which could be presented together with the iPhone 8, in advance of the first rumors that predicted the launch between the end of 2017 and the beginning of 2018.
How much RAM will the iPhone 8 have
All the rumors about the iPhone 8 have mainly concerned the design and innovative features. One of the little or no topics have been the internal components. How much RAM will the iPhone 8 have? And how much storage space? With the latest rumors it is possible to give an answer to these questions as well: the IPhone 8 should have 3GB of RAM and 64GB, 128GB and 256GB of internal storage. Apple would seem ready to put aside the 32GB version to make room for the 64GB version, following the example of other major hi-tech companies.
Not only augmented reality
As mentioned above, the iPhone 8 will have a dual rear camera placed vertically that will allow access to some features dedicated to augmented reality. It is no coincidence that during the last Worldwide Developers Conference, the event that Apple organizes every year for developers, the Cupertino company has shown ARKit, the new platform for developing applications for augmented reality.
But AR is not the only sector on which Apple is focusing, even virtual reality is in its projects. This would be demonstrated by the infrared module present on the iPhone 8 that, assisted by the cameras, is able to scan the surrounding environment and reconstruct it three-dimensionally. This feature would make it much easier to support virtual reality. This, at least, the thought of KGI Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst very close to Apple, who also announced that at the moment the Cupertino company has two years of advantage on virtual reality compared to its rivals.
