With the Sega Forever service it will be possible to play for free five video games from the past, including Sonic The Hedgehog and Phantasy Star II
Good news for video game fans: Sega has launched the Sega Forever service that provides free games from the past for iPhone and Android. The Japanese company is trying to exploit the passion of users for the '80s and '90s to relaunch its ambitions in a sector, that of apps for smartphones, which is giving great satisfaction to many companies.
Sega's goal is to repeat the success achieved by Nintendo with Pokemon GO: repropose a video game from a decade ago but adapted to today's world. For lovers of video games of the past is definitely an opportunity not to be missed: Sega, in fact, will make available some of the most iconic titles of the '80s and '90s, starting with Sonic The Hedgehog, probably one of the most beloved platformers of all time. The video games will be available for free for iPhone and Android and if you don't want to be disturbed by advertisements, you'll just have to pay 2.26 euros.
The games of the Sega Forever service
The Japanese company has assured that the Sega Forever service will be improved in the coming months with the addition of new video games. In the meantime, fans will be able to enjoy five different games: Sonic The Hedgehog, Phantasy Star II, Comix Zone, Kid Chameleon and AlteredBeast. The first videogame is a platformer that came out in 1991 and remained in the hearts of many people, while Phantas Star II is an RPG that came out in 1989. AlteredBeast, on the other hand, is the video game developed for the release of the SEGA Mega Drive. The game is a scrolling fighting game set in ancient Greece. Comix Zone, on the other hand, is a title with a comic setting halfway between a fighting game and an action game.
