Xiaomi has officially presented its Redmi 9 also in Italy. The device is already available at a very economical price. It is in fact a phone designed for the low end, but characterized by good performance and especially an excellent battery. For this reason it is the best solution if you are looking for the first smartphone for boys.
In fact it is able to stay on for a long time even after prolonged use, but at the same time is a low-cost device with entry-level specifications, that is, for those who do not have huge demands in terms of photographic compartment and performance. However, the structure is resistant to scratches and knocks. Its features are very similar to those of other cheap smartphones launched in 2020. Of course, you should not expect too much: for example, it does not support 5G connection but we have other interesting features such as NFC connectivity.
Xiaomi Redmi 9: official features
Xiaomi Redmi 9 has a linear and minimal design, featuring a 6.53-inch FHD+ (2340×1080 pixels) display. The screen aspect ratio is 19.5:9 while the brightness is 400 nits. On the back we will also find the fingerprint sensor. The smartphone also has a 3.5mm jack, an IR and USB-C port as well as a noise-canceling microphone system. The weight is 198g while the dimensions are 163.32×77.01×9.1mm. It is available in three colors: gray, teal and light blue.
Now let's move on to the internal specs. First of all, it will feature a MediaTek Helio G80 SoC with Mali-G52 MC2 GPU, so as speculated it will be a CPU designed for the mid-range. As for the RAM, it will be available with 3 or 4 GB while the internal memory will be 32 or 64GB and you can expand it thanks to a microSD. Xiaomi announces that the performance has improved by 107% compared to the previous generation. It is 82% faster than the previous generation.
As far as the photo compartment is concerned, the Redmi 9 features a quad-cam. We have an 8 MP ultra wide-angle lens, 13 MP wide-angle lens, 2 MP depth sensor and 5MP macro lens. The front camera, on the other hand, will be 8 MP and allows you to take selfies by moving your palm contactless. Finally, the real highlight of the phone is the battery that has a capacity of 5,020 mAh, which guarantees a good autonomy. To this is added the 18-watt fast charging. Additional features include Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.0 and NFC module.
Redmi 9 price: how much does it cost?
The Redmi 9 is already available starting at a price of 149.9 euros (3+32GB) in all Italian stores. Xiaomi also announced the release of two other devices in the range in the coming months: the Redmi 9 A will arrive at the end of July, while the Redmi 9 C will be available in September in Italy.
