Xiaomi after a pause returns to the tablet market with the usual product with high value for money: it's Pad 5, which now arrives in Italy
Defying iPad is not at all easy. The Apple tablet boasts a very solid customer base that would hardly turn to other companies, and above all has been on the crest of the wave for many years. But if there's one company that can put a spoke in Apple's wheel, well maybe it's Xiaomi.
In Beijing they boast a long tradition of products with a very strong price/quality ratio. Xiaomi's tech items are more often than not characterized by a number of very high-level technical features for the price: that's how Xiaomi has made its way among the "big" guys in tech, and that's how the company has built a customer base that would make anyone envious. So the formula of Xiaomi has always been unchanged, maximize value for money, a task entrusted to the recent Xiaomi Pad 5, the tablet that looks like iPad Pro but costs half as much. A product that fully embodies the company's philosophy, in other words.
Xiaomi Pad 5: technical specifications
The technical specifications of Xiaomi Pad 5 is that of a product clearly devoted to multimedia. This is clear for example from the display, an 11-inch 16:10 panel with a very high resolution (WQHD +, 1,600 x 2,560 pixels) and an equally large refresh rate (120 Hz); there is also support for DCI-P3 which ensures a great color accuracy.
The Chinese tablet bases its operation on the chip Snapdragon 860 from Qualcomm, an octa core built at 7 nanometers with a maximum operating frequency of 2.96 GHz, flanked by an Adreno 640 GPU and 6 GB of RAM. And if the latter is "fixed" (however, this is a more than sufficient amount), the user can choose the amount of storage space more in line with their needs: Xiaomi Pad 5 offers 128 or 256 GB of UFS 3.1 type.
Two cameras, one front for video calls and selfies of 8 megapixels, with video recording at 1080p and 30 fps, a rear 13-megapixel, with video recording at maximum 4K at 30 fps. Movies, TV series and video games are supported by a set of four system speakers that ensure the experience is maximized, along with Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res Audio support.
On the connectivity front there's dual band Wi-Fi ac, Bluetooth 5.0 and USB-C input for charging and data transfer. The battery is 8,720 mAh, according to Xiaomi able to ensure a satisfactory autonomy.
The user interface is the MIUI for Pad, an adaptation of the typical user interface that has always characterized the company's smartphones, also to support the Xiaomi Smart Pen stylus (accessory) that boasts a great integration with the tablet: when not in use it magnetically attaches to the chassis going into charging.
