Xiaomi is working on the new MIUI 12.1 user interface that brings on smartphones very interesting novelties. Here's what they are
In recent weeks Xiaomi has continued to distribute its MIUI 12 around the world: officially released on April 27, in China now almost all compatible devices have been updated while in Italy and other countries not yet, but we proceed straight. In the meantime, however, from China are already the first rumors about the future update: the MIUI 12.1.
Of course we are still in beta and there is not to expect a revolution, but the new UI has been slightly redesigned and there is also some small change under the hood to keep smartphones up to date. In general, Xiaomi has worked to make the user experience of its smartphones even smoother and to make some existing features more convenient. The most obvious changes are to the Always on Display, unlocking with both fingerprint and numeric PIN, the App Vault and the weather app. But there are also new features for drivers and media codecs.
Xiaomi MIUI 12.1: what changes in graphics
With MIUI 12.1 the Always on Display becomes more customizable and is enriched with the ability to show or hide additional information such as steps, battery status and notifications as you choose. The weather app now allows us to check the weather in other cities in a very simple way, while the App Vault which is accessed with a swipe to the left has a slightly different interface, vaguely similar to that of iOS. Accessibility settings, then, have been grouped into sections so you can find what you're looking for faster. The fingerprint unlock, finally, now has new additional animations than those that came with MIUI 12.
Xiaomi MIUI 12.1: other interesting news
In addition to these innovations, which are basically graphical, with MIUI 12.1 also comes the ability to set a keyboard with randomized numbers when we choose PIN unlock. This way no one will be able to guess our PIN by looking at where we tap. The camera app also now has new filters to apply to shots. Under the hood, finally, comes the new LHDC V3 audio codec and new OpenGL and Vulkan GPU drivers.
