Bloatware are the useless apps installed by Google or the manufacturer on the smartphone and slow down its performance. Here's how to get rid of them
Not all the apps preinstalled on our Android smartphone are really useful. Sometimes the manufacturers, or Google itself, put programs on our device that we never use but that still take up memory space.
Most users can't delete native Android apps in the standard way and leave them there to take up space in the phone's storage.
But that's a mistake: they take up memory and slow down the smartphone.
If your smartphone needs a cleanup from useless apps - called bloatware jargon - take five minutes of your time and find out how to disable and/or uninstall pre-installed Android programs, i.e. software filled with too many useless features that slow down its performance.
Disable bloatware or system apps
If we don't want to delete a pre-installed app on Android, because we think it might come in handy in the future, we can at least disable it.
This way it will take up some memory space but won't affect the phone's performance.
To do this we go to" Settings" and click on the "Apps" entry (apps in some models). At this point we'll see a list of all the apps installed on our smartphone.
If we press on a single program we'll open its tab and from this section we can disable the app.
Remember that some services, like the "Settings" app, can neither be deleted nor disabled. Otherwise the phone wouldn't work.
In some cases instead we won't find the disable option (especially on Google and manufacturer's apps) but we can choose the Uninstall updates item. Finally, it must be said that this is a reversible process. If you want to re-enable an app tomorrow, just follow the same procedure and click on "Enable".
Uninstall bloatware or system apps
To uninstall bloatware or system apps - ironically - you'll need an app. Be careful though, using it could seriously compromise the stability of your Android system. Moreover, this app requires root permissions to work.
The app in question is Titanium Backup, said by many to be one of the best apps for removing and restoring apps on Android especially since it has a very useful feature - the one you need - that is, it allows you to uninstall bloatware.
To proceed, install and launch the app and grant root permissions. After this first and basic step, go to the "Backup/Restore" tab at the top and locate the names of the apps you want to remove.
In red you'll see those system apps that would be better not to remove so as not to compromise your smartphone's functionality and Android system stability.
Then select the apps you want to remove, hit "Uninstall" and then "Yes".
Deleting a bloatware on Samsung smartphone
Samsung's pre-installed apps are slightly different from those of other manufacturers. The South Korean giant offers an alternative method of disabling apps.
Go into apps, press on the program you want to disable and once you enter its tab tap on the disable or uninstall entry, if any. A deactivated app will no longer run in the background and will not receive updates, eliminating unnecessary waste of resources.
