The hours that separate us from the announcement of Windows 11 are now counted. After the "Pro" version shown in the recent leaks appeared on the network, it's time for a new confirmation, although not yet official: there will also be the SE edition. To bring out the indication, a detail that has not gone unnoticed by the eyes of the most experts.
Just a few days ago, with a certain advance on the event scheduled for June 24 from which we expect the presentation of Windows 11, have emerged the first unofficial images of the new Os of Redmond. In the leaked screenshots, clearly appeared the words "Windows 11 Pro", thus suggesting the presence of an additional version in addition to the canonical usually called "Home". Now, with the addition of SE, there are more editions that natively adapt to different types of use, from the more domestic to others with specific features for work and business.
Windows 11 SE, where is it?
According to the information circulated recently, the build of the operating system that was illegally spread on the web before the actual release on the market (from which the screenshots of 11 Pro would come from) hides a rather clear and unmistakable clue. It's a SKU (Stock Keeping Unit) code, which is an alphanumeric series that manufacturers use to categorize and identify their products.
Specifically, the sequence would highlight a mode protected by a lock added to some customization options, present in the settings. In addition, the part of the software that would allow access to the Microsoft Store application, another focal point of the latest changes, would be disabled.
Windows 11 or Windows 10X?
Although Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella has anticipated the edition as "a new generation of Windows", many have seen obvious similarities with Windows 10X, a project shelved in the development phase but that in recent months had raised the possibility of a system dedicated to hybrid devices.
From the point of view of graphics, the "Fluent design" gives its best with icons equipped with shading and 3D lighting effects, characteristic of this style but far from the flat effect seen previously. There are, however, "flat" incursions, such as the logo that abandons the trapezoidal icon for another completely "Windows blue".
The "Start" icon also changes, along with the search bar that now allows you to filter results by categories, including applications, documents and more. Further return should be that of widgets. Of course, to get official confirmations you'll have to wait for the launch, which, according to the schedule, won't be long now.
