The new MacBook Pro would be ready to go into production, or rather may have already done so: here's the rumor that marks the stages
The new MacBook Pro would be almost ready for mass production. To affirm it the analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, known and usually reliable voice on the Apple universe. The indiscretion is consistent with those that preceded it: the new MacBook Pro should arrive by the end of 2021, while for the renewal of the MacBook Air there would be to wait until 2022.
According to Kuo, the first next-generation MacBook Pro with 14 and 16-inch display will arrive by the end of the year but the production should start some time earlier, precisely in the third quarter of 2021, or in that period of time from July to September. Potentially then - even if we don't have news yet - something would be moving already now inside the production plants to which Apple has entrusted the realization of the new MacBook Pro, and although there would be time for a presentation in September, it seems unlikely that Apple decides to merge the news for iPhone, Apple Watch and MacBook Pro in a single event.
When the new MacBook Pro arrive
Apple then in all likelihood will hold two separate events by the end of the year. The first, in September, from which will come out the iPhone 13 and Apple Watch Series 7, the second, between October and November, in which the new MacBook Pro will be made official.
In addition, due to the crisis of chips and technology components, Apple may be forced to stagger the presentation of the 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pro from their actual availability on the market, similar to what happened in April with iPad Pro.
The semiconductor crisis that broke out following the pandemic is not the only complicating factor, but there are also production difficulties unrelated to the chips for the production of the mini LED displays that will most likely equip the next MacBook Pro.
The new MacBook Pro
The mini LED displays, as the name suggests, are characterized by LEDs smaller than normal. Doing so greatly improves the backlight accuracy of IPS panels, cascading improvements in black depth, contrast, and optimizes power consumption.
Despite the novelty represented by the mini LED displays, on the new MacBook Pro is expected the debut of the M1X chip made by Apple: it is said that it will be made with the TSMC N5P manufacturing process that represents a further optimization of the already advanced 5-nanometer process of the M1 chip, which will have a 10-core configuration (8 high-performance, 2 for less demanding workloads) and that could also significantly improve graphics performance compared to the M1.
Overall higher performance for M1X compared to the current chip also explainable by a substantial difference, namely the active heat dissipation through one or more fans that should find place inside the new MacBook Pro with M1X chip. It is said that they will have a brand new design, that they can be configured with RAM up to 64 GB, that they will have some Thunderbolt and HDMI ports, a slot for SD cards and the MagSafe charging connector.
