OnePlus 5, all the technical specifications revealed: what will it look like

OnePlus 5 will arrive by the end of June with top-of-the-line features: Snapdragon 835, 8GB of RAM and QuadHD screen

A little more than a month after the official presentation, the OnePlus 5 is no longer a secret. And neither are its technical specifications. The Chinese company has confirmed through its social profiles that the OnePlus 5 will arrive by the end of the summer (presumably by June) and that as usual will be full of surprises.

Surprises that have now been revealed through dozens and dozens of rumors appeared online. From design to technical features, the OnePlus 5 knows no more secrets. The latest rumors have appeared on Slashleaks, a U.S. website always well informed about upcoming smartphones. And it largely confirms the news that appeared in previous days: the new Chinese smartphone will have top of the range features that will position the OnePlus 5 in the same category as the LG G6 and Samsung Galaxy S8. But with one difference: the OnePlus 5 will cost at least 200 euros less.

Technical specifications OnePlus 5

The indiscretion with the technical characteristics of the Chinese smartphone was posted on Slashleaks and largely confirms what we have already seen in previous days, although there are some new features. As for the hardware compartment, nothing new: Snapdragon 835 chipset, supported by 8GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, with the possibility to expand it up to 128GB. The latter feature seems rather unlikely, since on the OnePlus 3 it was not possible to insert an additional microSD. The screen should be 5.5 inches with QuadHD resolution. Under this aspect, it is very likely that OnePlus will use a solution very similar to the one already seen on the LG G6, with the smartphone's very thin bezels.

Also the photographic compartment could give some surprises. So far, rumors were reporting OnePlus' decision to equip the new top of the range with a vertical dual camera: according to Slashleaks' rumors, this will not be the case. The OnePlus 5 will mount a single 23-megapixel rear camera, while the front one will be 16-megapixel with special features for selfies.

The battery will be 4000 mAh, a definite step up from the 3000 mAh of the OnePlus 3. The decision to increase the power of the battery is triggered by the fact that such high-performance hardware components necessarily need a longer battery life.

Price and release date

Also on the price of the OnePlus 5 come new information: the device should cost about 449 euros. A price that if it were confirmed would confirm the policy pursued by OnePlus: top of the range smartphones at lower prices than the competition. The presentation and the output should take place by the end of June, as happened last year.
