The Finnish company pre-announces the release of two more devices: the Nokia 4 and the Nokia 7 Plus. Coming in Spring also in Europe?
Nokia would seem intent on starting 2018 with a bang. The Finnish company made a strong comeback in the world of smartphones in 2017 thanks to the partnership with HMD Global (the Finnish company that produces Nokia-branded phones), would seem to want to double its efforts during 2018.
To the already announced Nokia 6 (2018), Nokia 8 (2018) and Nokia 9, will be added during the year also the Nokia 7 Plus and the Nokia 4. While the first will be a new version of a device already on the Asian market, the second is a brand new phone. The news comes directly from HMD Global: in the update of the photo application, among the supported models there would also be the Nokia 4 and Nokia 7 Plus. Smartphones that until now had never been heard of. How will these two phones be? For the moment it is difficult to talk in detail about the data sheet, but it is possible to make some predictions, following the numbering that Nokia and HMD Global have given to their devices.
Features Nokia 4
We start from the most difficult smartphone to decipher. The Nokia 4 fits in between the Nokia 3 (smartphone with MediaTek chipset) and the Nokia 5 (cell phone with SoC Snapdragon 430). It is therefore an entry-level device that will most likely mount a Snapdragon 4xx chipset, supported by at least 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory. A novelty could concern the screen: for the 2018 range Nokia is using displays with an aspect ratio of 18:9. And the same could be done for the Nokia 4. The screen size could be between 5 and 5.5 inches. As for the photo compartment will be very similar to that of the Nokia 3: we can speculate a front camera will be 8 Megapixels and a rear 13 Megapixels. On board there will probably be Android Oreo 8.0 in the stock version.
Features Nokia 7 Plus
As is evident from the name, the Nokia 7 Plus differs from the base model only by the size of the screen. The Nokia 7 mounts a 5.2-inch display, the Nokia 7 Plus will probably have a 5.5 or 5.7-inch screen with an aspect ratio of 18:9. As for the hardware compartment there should be no news: Snapdragon 630 supported by 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory. The front camera is 5 megapixels, while the rear one is 16 megapixels. Inside there will be Android Oreo 8.0.
When the Nokia 4 and Nokia 7 Plus will be released
The two smartphones go to complete the Nokia range, composed by now of almost a dozen devices. They range from the Nokia 1, which is expected to make its debut at the Mobile World Congress 2018 in Barcelona, to the Nokia 9, most likely unveiled in mid-January. The two devices will most likely debut during the second quarter of 2018. Difficult to say where they will be marketed: it is likely that initially they will be launched in China and then distributed in the rest of the World.
