Stiamo imparando una nuova lingua e abbiamo un dubbio, ma non sappiamo a chi rivolgerci? Niente paura, arrivano le chatbot di Duolingo. La piattaforma già da anni offre un tool gratuito per l’apprendimento delle lingue. Ora però si è spinta in avanti.
Le chatbot fino ad ora sono state impiegate principalmente in ambito aziendale. Si tratta di software che sfruttano l’intelligenza artificiale per simulare una conversazione umana. Da oggi invece grazie a Duolingo saranno utilizzare anche per l’apprendimento linguistico. Le conversazioni per adesso si svolgeranno soltanto in tre lingue. Si parte infatti con il francese, il tedesco e lo spagnolo. The feature will initially only be available for iPhone, while there are no indications on when it will be available for Android users as well.
A virtual teacher
To make the conversation as human as possible, Duolingo gives virtual teachers a touch of personality. In fact, for professors there will be a driver, a policeman, a chef who will have the task of responding to messages and helping users correct any errors. The principle behind Duolingo chatbots is to simulate a real communication.
One question, several answers
The degree of lexical and grammatical flexibility of these softwares is also surprising. In fact, Duolingo chatbots are able to answer the same question in different ways.And if we don't know how to answer? Also in this case there are no problems. The app, in fact, has a help button that, once pressed, suggests a series of possible answers.
For the moment, Duolingo will only allow you to exchange text messages, but you'll have to wait a little longer for conversations.
